As life gets complicated, the answer is childlike faith...

I am an independent writer/performer/producer making summery sounds with lots of harmony, guitars, and emotion.
Brian Wilson said of his epic work Pet Sounds, "I wanted to make the listener feel loved." Those words have always remained with me and I hope to share loving, healing sounds with the listener as well.

Story behind the song
Written in Korea near the DMZ in 1999 during a time of intense trials. I decided to redo in 2009 as the demo I had posted was full of mistakes and I believe the Lord gave me the song - hopefully it will have meaning for others.
Lyrics
Sometimes life seems too complicated I can't see the big picture or any picture at all Wait a minute, why am I so stressed? There's no reason to be so depressed There's a little boy inside of me Turning to the Lord trustingly I'm saved by childlike faith... Childlike Faith (little boy), Childlike Faith (little girl), (Falsetto: that's what it takes!) (Bass: Jesus loves me this I know For the Bible tells me so Amazing saving grace That's what it takes) When doubts assail you like a hail storm And you can't figure out what its all about And you cry Wait a minute, and look up above Heaven's pouring out on you such love There's a little child inside of you Never doubting God who's always true You're saved by childlike faith... Childlike Faith (little boy), Childlike Faith (little girl), (Falsetto: that's what it takes!) (Bass: Jesus loves me this I know For the Bible tells me so Amazing saving grace That's what it takes) Twelve men dismissed the little children One man just held them tight and He blessed them Right where they were Wait a minute, this is your salvation Simplified of every complication There's a love you never can outgrow Ask a little child and they will know We're saved by childlike faith! Childlike Faith (little boy), Childlike Faith (little girl), (Falsetto: that's what it takes!) (Bass: Jesus loves me this I know For the Bible tells me so Amazing saving grace That's what it takes)... (c) 1999 Old Sarge Music

Nice job JP, I remember liking this one before and still do, you had fun doing this one, reminds me of Mid 70's BW adult child/Love you era, half big band half circus organ, tons of great vocals - KILLER guitar. I agree with Matt, you deliver you message very nicely. good to hear you! you manage to put out a new production whilst fighting a war, I really have to get something done!

Great song Johnny! Cool meaning in the lyrics - and I like that you can do this sort of thing without sounding preachy. Excellent vocals as usual!

Salut Johnny! New version? Surely! I love this little touch of big band style, the solo guitar (2:05 to 2:28), the positive energy, the rich harmonies and... this improved sound! Je ne me fatiguerai pas de l'écouter souvent, j'aime le tempo. Merci pour cette nouvelle version! Claude
Johnny This is absolutely a fabulous song. I like those tight vocal harmonies at the beginning and through out the song, with some nice key changes. A powerful message that is so needed in our contemporary culture, reminding us that God still wants child-like faith. This song has a wonderful Beatles touch to it. Great job!

I agree with Tony wholeheartedly, Johnny. :D Strong writing, great production..SWEET harmonies! :D Each part has its place, and space. The Bible says we should always approach the Lord with the humbleness faith of children..as we ARE His Children, no matter how old or young we may be. :D Of course, I hear your signature sound..and you did a great job. :D Thanks for the heads up! :D

Sorry I didnt get to audition was away from the computer till now. Anyway I agree this is one of your best productions. The keys are better than I have heard from you before this. Is this your fullsize keyboard you bought a few years ago? This sounds great. The mix separation is so good. I am hearing everything just like they were on stage. Is this your VOX amp??? Thugs are right on sounding better than ever. Great work glad to see you back in the saddle.
