Through heartache and back (Paul Jeffery)

Second co-write with Paul Jeffery and also included on his 2nd self-released album 'Seven shades of grey'
I'm easily inspired either by personal experiences, things said in conversation, being given a challenge, or being moved or amused by something. Many genres.

Story behind the song
This is my second collaboration with Paul Jeffery and it's on his self released album "Seven shades of grey"
Many sincere thanks to Paul, and to Jon Strong for producing it.

Lyrics
Did you ever go through it, confusion, sorrow,
As you hit the sack,
Did you ever go through it,
Through heartache and back.
Did you ever go through it, the longing the wondring
Why we went off track,
Did you ever go through it,
Through heartache and back.
Chorus
I've been down and nearly drowned in self pity and loss,
I've been down but now Im not countin the cost,
Cause you did me so wrong, but Im feeling strong,
I've been through the heartache,
The gut-wrenchin heartache,
I've been through heartache and back.
You were a romantic charmer
With a little girl lost look in your eyes,
You were a romantic charmer
Who couldn’t help telling lies.
Ten to one you’re still lying
Deceiving cheating
With somebody new,
Did you ever feel sorry
For what you put me through
Chorus
I’ve been down and nearly drowned
In self-pity and loss,
I’ve been down but now
I’m not countin’ the cost,
‘Cause you did me so wrong,
But I’m feelin’ strong,
I’ve been through the heartache,
The gut-wrenchin’ heartache,
I’ve been through heartache and back.
BRIDGE
Heartache might make you bitter yea
Heartache might make you fall,
But honey, I am no quitter no,
And getting over heartache has given me it all
Chorus
I’ve been down and nearly drowned
In self-pity and loss,
I’ve been down but now
I’m not countin’ the cost,
‘Cause you did me so wrong,
But I’m feelin’ strong,
I’ve been through the heartache,
I’ve been through the heartache,
The gut-wrenchin’ heartache,
I’ve been through heartache and back.
